Boca Centre Partners with Local Organizations to Fight Hunger

The Kabbalah Centre of Boca Raton recently teamed up with two local organizations to provide meals and ease the burden of families in need. Working with Modern Woodmen of America, one of the country’s oldest and most successful mutual aid societies, and LifeNet4Families, a human services charity that has been fighting hunger in Broward County for 30 years, the Boca Centre assisted in providing 5,000 meals for over 525 families.

In July, Modern Woodmen of America collected donations to buy 5,000 meals to then distribute to local food pantries. Once the meals were purchased, volunteers were needed to package the meals. The Boca Centre stepped in and offered to provide a group of volunteers, as well as the space in which to pack the meals. “Our partner organization showed up with a few volunteers, and expected the same of us,” says Batya Solomon, Manager of The Kabbalah Centre of Boca Raton. “They were shocked at the number of volunteers that showed up. Our volunteers were so happy to help. There were over 30 who were only too happy to share, so that the whole packing process took only a couple of hours, instead of the whole day! They were shocked.”

Once the meals were ready, they were donated to LifeNet4Families, a nonprofit that has provided food, ancillary services and referrals to people in need for over 30 years. LifeNet4Families welcomed the meal donation, which will feed over 525 families.

In addition to helping to feed hungry families, the Boca Centre made connections with two other local organizations who engage in acts of sharing. “Every month, we contribute our support to helping people in our community,” says Batya. “Some of the other organizations that we regularly work with are Vetsville Cease Fire House, which offers shelter to disabled and homeless veterans; Women in Distress – a shelter for battered women and children; and JAFCO Children’s Village for abused and neglected children. Our volunteers thank us for giving them the opportunity to share. They always come away feeling that sense of fulfillment that only true sharing can bring.”

In the midst of such chaos in my life, I have been able to find peace through studying Kabbalah. Without any doubts whatsoever, I would highly recommend anyone to call. I am so thankful for The Kabbalah Centre, because it has made all the difference in my spiritual growth and development.

Kabbalah is the best gift I have had this year. But it did not come easy. It is a result of a lot of hard, focused, and disciplined work my teacher guided me through. Often I had to go out of my comfort zone to apply the tools. But the satisfaction and confidence I now feel is indescribable.

Now I look back and question what exactly I did and how I managed without these teachings in my life.
