According to the kabbalists, our thoughts determine our reality. The way we see things can shape situations in our lives. When Rav Berg, the founder of the Kabbalah Center, speaks about mind over matter—controlling our responses to physical reality—the goal is first to control our thoughts.
The month of Gemini functions very much on the level of the mind. Many thoughts and ideas are coming and going—most of them are going… especially this week. As we start the week, we are in the Full Moon of Gemini, and the Light of the moon is shining towards us. The moon is in Sagittarius, the axis of Gemini. The ruler of Gemini, Mercury, conjunct Uranus in Taurus, can bring us imagination and new understandings. It is an invitation to think about situations in different ways. Mercury was retrograding in this sign, so it is the second time it meets Uranus. If there was anything you needed to rethink during the New Moon of Taurus (around April 28th), you may now have the chance to apply what you have learned.
Mercury is connected to our nervous system. When it is conjunct Uranus, you may experience ups and downs in the brain, in the nervous system, or on a cellular level. Keep calm, breathe, avoid jumping into drama, and try not to overreact to situations. As the kabbalists teach, search for where the Light in the situation exists. Ask yourself, what is the message for me? Being a calm observer of life can help us maintain optimal mental, emotional, and physical health.
When Venus moves to Leo this week, our lives take a dramatic turn. We may find ourselves looking for people who make us shine. We may desire the romance in our lives to play out like an emotional, dramatic, and sweeping movie. Pay attention to the details people around you offer. Do not fall for flattery or manipulation from people who tell you how amazing you are with ulterior motives. The energy of Venus in Leo wants to make sure your relationships create a circuitry of sharing and receiving. It is not just about how you feel; it is also about trying to put yourself in someone else's shoes to awaken empathy and care.
The combination of Leo and Taurus (Jupiter, Mercury, Uranus, and the North Node are all in Taurus) makes us prone to overspending, expensive vacations, diamond rings, and good food. Make sure that you have the money you are about to spend.
Mars in Leo enhances the Leo energy making us patient, so we can wait to receive respect and acknowledgment. Make sure to address others with respect, as well. Use words, not for flattery but to support and uplift your community. On the other hand, keep in mind the real acknowledgment we want to receive is from the Light-force of the Creator, the source of all blessings. When we wait for an outside force (whether it is a person or situation) to lift us up, we are limiting the blessings we can receive.
