“Our portion this week is Behar. Behar refers to Mount Sinai, one of the smaller mountains of the world. It is on this mountain that the world received the great blessing and tool known as the Torah. The kabbalists teach that the size of Mount Sinai indicates that it was humble and lacking ego and, therefore, merited to be the location of the revelation of the Torah. The basis of this concept is quite beautiful. If we view ourselves as large and in control of life, do we not then push the Creator out of it? Do we really want our hands to be the sole sustainer of our lives? Wouldn’t we prefer, rather, to have the Creator as our partner?”

– Karen Berg on the portion of Behar

This powerful week strongly supports Karen’s beautiful lesson on this week's portion, Behar. If there is a week to think big, recognize the Light in everything, and allow the Light to be the one in the driver’s seat, it’s this week.

On Monday, May 19th, the Sun ends its cycle in the sign of Taurus (in the last degree). Together with the Sun, there are currently four other planets in Taurus, which makes up half of the ten celestial bodies. There is a potent energy in the air at the beginning of the week to support us with balance, strength, stability, and calm. This is a good time to meditate, connect, and engage with the powerful earth energy. Draw support from it for the upcoming few weeks until the energy slowly shifts to the element of air.

On May 20th, the Sun moves into the sign of Gemini. Right at the beginning of this shift until the end of this week, the Sun in Gemini forms a powerfully positive aspect with Pluto in Aquarius. This combination of energies allows us to develop certainty beyond logic. We will have a stronger ability to see and appreciate the magnitude of the Light and, therefore, value our connections to others in the small spectrum of our life, and to humanity as a whole. This is a perfect week to grow our desire to have the Light as a partner. We may even find ourselves stepping beyond our limited personal affairs.

On Tuesday, May 21st through Thursday, May 23rd, Venus and Jupiter, in the sign of Taurus, are in conjunction (very close to each other), which feels like they are holding hands in a way. There is an energy surrounding us that feels good. Don’t be surprised if you become passionate about anything that can awaken goodness and connections of unity and love! This energy can lead to powerful serendipities, great realizations, and clarity in our relationships and financial affairs.

On Friday, as Venus moves into Gemini, it forms a powerful aspect with Pluto in Aquarius, which adds an amazing depth and intensity to our love and passion. However, be careful to moderate this energy; avoid being overly intense and overwhelming, especially when expressing your emotions to others.

This week is also the last week that the planet Jupiter resides in the sign of Taurus, ending a yearly cycle. It will move into the sign of Gemini next week, which will teach all of us to be more open-minded. We are slowly moving into an era of thinking outside of the box—a great asset to all.
