Here we are at the beginning of the new astrological year! With the New Moon in Aries, we begin a new cycle. The year 2025 is highlighted by a few important events with major planets shifting into new signs, bringing a new wave of changes.
On the first day of the month of Aries, one of the slowest planets in the solar system shifts signs—Neptune, the blue giant, moves from Pisces into Aries. This starts a new cycle. Aries always represents a time of fresh opportunities and new desires. It’s a time of inspiration and a time to connect to our unique and personal motivation. Neptune is so slow that it shifts signs every 12-14 years. That means it takes 165 years for it to complete a full cycle of visiting all 12 signs of the zodiac!

Neptune represents our connection to the spiritual realm. In Kabbalah we call it the 99% realm. It is the unseen reality, the metaphysical force in our lives. Since it’s moving into Aries, it highlights our individual spiritual connections—that is, our connection to our higher selves. Neptune in Aries urges us to step up our game in our own spiritual work and achieve personal spiritual breakthroughs.
With the combination of the New Moon and Neptune’s transit into Aries, the biggest task for us this month is to plant the seeds for a new era. Ask yourself:
- How can I access my higher spiritual self?
- How can I manifest this work and really put in the effort?
- How can I use my creativity and my unique talents for a greater good?
- What is my intuition trying to tell me?
Trust your inner voice. Let your intuition guide you, even when it goes against logic. How can you share your gifts? Maybe by expanding your compassion and expressing more kindness? Or maybe it’s through work of service, contributing towards a cause that is greater than yourself? Expanding our higher spiritual selves can also be done by choosing to be braver and taking bold steps to confront challenges in our lives so we can overcome fear and uncertainty.
Engage in prayer, meditation, breathwork, reflection, and inner exploration to connect to the Lifeforce of the Creator. Each of these expressions can serve as a way to embody and align with our higher power, helping us live with purpose, authenticity, and impact. This month is our opportunity to plant seeds and clearly envision, with intention, how we would like to empower and connect to our highest selves.
