We start this week with all the energy of the New Moon, a cycle that began on November 23rd and ends on the 30th. The gift it gives us is that of beginnings and planting seeds. The New Moon is the best time to start a project, activity, or change of habits. What is initiated in the New Moon is supported by the entire lunar cycle, and we have more opportunities to manifest the results. Just as there are specific times in the year that are right for planting, cultivating, and harvesting, each month gives us the opportunity to start a new cycle.

Starting on November 30th and ending on December 7th, we have the First Quarter lunar cycle. This cycle requires effort to bring out what was started in the New Moon. It is a key moment in which we will be challenged from all angles to manifest whatever we started or even what was left unfinished. The Last Quarter gives us willpower, drive, desire, and the ability to make decisions. It also provides us with creativity, so things come to fruition. It is time for hard work, to push ourselves to the maximum, and to leave our comfort zones. Make the most of this lunar phase to push yourself.

The week ahead looks balanced, with three planets in fire, two in earth, two in water, and two in air. As we can see, the charge in fire is stronger, however, there is a good balance between the elements, which helps us to enjoy that energy in harmony.

As for the planets, this week, none of them change signs, but we cannot ignore Mars in Gemini in its retrograde period, energy that we have been experiencing since October 31st and will last until January 13th. When a planet is retrograde, it does not know how to use its energy—it is dysfunctional. In this case, we are living the dysfunctional energy of the planet of war, so be careful not to exaggerate your strength and the way you confront situations. We can exaggerate our impulsiveness, aggressiveness, and bravery—characteristics that can get us into trouble. Avoid confrontation and determination in instances that require more assertive energy. Keep in mind, a retrograde planet always gives us a lesson from the past, inviting us to restore energy when we are revisiting situations we’ve been in before. We may have lacked bravery, courage, and willpower, but this week you can come out ahead.

The portion of the week is Vayetzé, in which Jacob escapes from his brother. Upon arriving in Haran, he remembers that he had passed through Har Hamoriah, where Avraham and Isaac prayed, and he realizes the opportunity he missed to pray there. Without hesitation, he returns to recite his tefilot(prayers). He was very far away, and by his good intention, the Creator brings Har Hamoriah to him, and he arrives in a short time. As in this story, this week shows us that when we miss an opportunity, there is always the possibility of remedying it through our efforts, enthusiasm, passions, and optimism. Through these actions, we can create miracles hand in hand with the energy of Sagittarius.
