The New Moon of Capricorn is the final New Moon of the year. Together with a total solar eclipse on December 14th, they become the last astrological events for this year! We can finally say goodbye to 2020 once and for all, and start a brand new journey into 2021.
The energy of the New Moon in Capricorn blends with the energy of the total solar eclipse in Sagittarius, which is aligned with Mercury, with a trine of Mars, and a square of Neptune. Thus, this New Moon will set the tone for the upcoming year. The total solar eclipse will implore to break the chains of the past and reinvent new structures and new rules. This happens right before the much-anticipated “Great Conjunction” on December 21st when we start a new era for the world. These three big astrological events occur in the same month, pushing us for more authenticity and connection to our true spiritual goals.
The New Moon of Capricorn energy encourages structure, discipline, and organization. The total solar eclipse demands we connect to a higher energy. It is a good time to set goals and plan for the future. (What a good timing for New Year Resolutions!) The total eclipse aspect of Mercury points toward what we think and what we speak, giving us a sense of empowerment—a sense that we can do whatever we set our minds to. Think: mind over matter.
A New Moon always brings something new into our life. And because this New Moon is in Capricorn, it ultimately teaches us how to be our own master, and empowers us to move in a bold direction. For this, we need to break free from bad habits (the last push before the great conjunction on December 21st). Our lives can be much freer than we have ever thought. We just need to move out of our comfort zones.
The New Moon is forming a positive aspect with Mars. The theme of Mars is letting go of the past and of unhealthy beliefs. Only then can we move into tomorrow with fresh perspectives. The much-awaited Jupiter-Saturn conjunction on December 21st may well bring us into a modern era since the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction occurs exactly at zero degrees in Aquarius. This new era will be nothing like we expect it to be. It is truly “Aquarius” in every sense of the word: innovative, people-oriented, and YES, different!
Don’t expect everything to change in a blink of an eye on December 21st. Jupiter is the visionary, and Saturn is the one who implements. Together, they build a different type of structure in the world—a structure connected to the higher power of the Universe. The Jupiter-Saturn conjunction on December 21st is an opportunity, but we also have a responsibility to be involved in the creation of a better future for ourselves and for the world. Take this opportunity seriously; it may be one of the most important moments of our lives.
