The New Moon in Aries is more than just another New Moon. It is the first new moon of the astrological year, which signifies the beginning of a new cycle. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, so this is the official beginning of a new astrological year and our chance to start again. A new moon, by definition, is a new beginning. So this new moon comes with a double dose of “new beginning” energy. Given the unprecedented crisis we’re currently witnessing, this new moon is aray of hope. This New Moon in Aries may surprise you, enlighten you, and might just change your life. Expect it to first shake you, then set you free.

Let’s think a bit about Aries. Some key words and phrases that describe Aries are:

  • I am
  • Head
  • Leader
  • Big desire
  • Impulsive
  • Take action
  • Courage
  • Step out of your comfort zone
  • Initiate

Aries energy is empowering. During this time, we break away from the “oneness” of Pisces energy and choose to manifest our Light in a unique way. As the first sign of the zodiac, the motto of Aries is “Just do it.” Each of the other 11 signs is here to perfect that action. But first, we need to take the initiative. Sometimes, we can be all over the place. We want everything NOW. It may feel like we are busy all the time, but are we really taking action? And are we taking meaningful action?

That’s exactly what we need to do this month: take meaningful action.

What is a meaningful action? It’s being a leader, going out of your comfort zone, taking the initiative. This is what Aries is all about.

This New Moon is about learning how to differentiate between what is very important and what is really important. That meansfocusing on responsibility and commitment, so we don’t only have the blind courage of Aries. This sign brings the “start before you’re ready” energy, action, impulse, and expressing your true self. No time for hesitation!

This New Moon makes a tight conjunction with Neptune and Venus. Needless to say, the energy of miracles and unconditional love is relevant this month. And this is meaningful action—action infused with miracles and love. Take action NOW. Not yesterday and not tomorrow.

This reminds me of a quote from the Dalai Lama. He said, “There are only two days in the year that nothing can be done. One is called Yesterday, and the other is called Tomorrow. Today is the right day to Love, Believe, Do and mostly Live.”

At this time, we experience a genuine desire to help. There is less finger-pointing or people trying to take advantage of the situation. People will go beyond their instant gratification needs with a reawakening of love and care. There will always be things we have no control over. But there is one thing we DO have control over: how WE react to what is going on in the world.

Chodesh tov!
