Hi Everyone! Let me start by wishing everybody a happy holiday season full of Light and energy!

As we enter 2016 this week, let’s find out what surprises the cosmos has for us these days!

Frankly, the week’s chart looks a bit muddy––earth mixed with water! Strong Capricorn and Virgo, and still a lot of water as the week starts with a homey Cancer moon right at the chart’s ascendant. Venus is still in strong Scorpio, followed by our triad in Pisces: South Node, Chiron, and Neptune. In short, it’s still wet and very emotional out there!

If we look a little closer, we will find that the message of this week is about families.

Cancer (rising and moon) is the sign of family and roots per excellence.

But of course, it’s the holiday season. Clearly, right now the message of the cosmos centers around our roots, and indeed, kabbalists have a lot to say about THAT!

Kabbalistic wisdom is not short on humor; it asks, "Who needs enemies when we have families and relatives?" (Zohar quote!) Oops…

Truth be told, when we look at biblical stories, it seems psychologists have a lot of work with them! Which families in the Bible are NOT dysfunctional? Answer: none!

In the first family of Adam and Eve, one brother kills another. Abraham is abandoned by his parents at the age of three months old and is raised by angels. Then Lot (Abraham's nephew) marries a woman from the not-so-great city of Sodom. She turns into a pillar of salt and he has children from his daughters. Joseph's brothers sell him into slavery and tell their father, Jacob, he is dead. This is good enough for an encyclopedia of psychopathology!

So, what’s in it for us? And how is that relevant to this week?

The first lesson is about expectations.

For some unknown reason, we all have fantastic expectations about our families: they need to be supportive, kind, sharing, an example of righteousness, and of course, never (God forbid) disagree with the decisions we make in our lives!

Well, newsflash! Everyone has problems. We all come into this world with a little tikun, a correction (think, karma), and if we were perfect, we would surely be on another planet! We just need to realize and accept the fact that our families are not perfect, and that’s okay.

During this whole holiday season, let’s enjoy our blessings and stay calm. Even if our great-great uncle has a lot of opinions about who we date or our new hair color. The trick is simply to take it as a limited message, and understand that we might have possibly, overlooked something. That’s it!

The second lesson is about the bigger picture.

Kabbalists pinpoint something amazing: they say that each parent is given the necessary "computer" program for each child. It's as if they were enacting a certain movie to teach us something. But what if we have a parent who’s a grump, and who never ever stops talking about our shortcomings and past mistakes? What are we to do with that?

Let's try an experiment during the holidays: just smile and decline to answer. Instead, go around and share with everyone. This is a great opportunity to see the movie of our lives–– how everybody interacts with everybody else and who picks on whom. We are wise enough to not jump into the pond, but rather round the angles and bring Light and peace around us.

Let’s change our movies this season! Chances are, our entourage will be very surprised we are not entering an argument.

This is our opportunity to correct our roots, to inject positive energy where there are conflicts, and let this be the beginning of a much better family dynamic for the future.

Cancer (rising and moon) is not so great for our waistlines though! So, beware of excess! Obviously, this is the week of holidays, so the cosmic reminder is welcome!

Very happy holidays to all!
