As many of you may already be aware, we are currently in the month of Taurus. The planet Venus, the ruler of Taurus, is the word Nogah in Aramaic. The good news is Nogah means Light! What’s more, Venus is the only one of the inner planets that rotates in a clockwise direction, moving from left to right as it moves the energy of judgment toward spiritual energy of mercy.

"Nogah means Light!"

This week in particular offers a powerful window of opportunity in which we could all benefit from being less judgmental. It might be a good idea to sit with yourself and make a list of the things in life you are particularly critical of. Is it your parents? A loved one? Or, maybe even yourself?

Listen, nobody is perfect, and we all have our own individual process we are going through. That’s what the journey of personal growth and spiritual transformation is all about! So, be merciful to others as they go through their process and be patient with yourself as you go through yours. This week, you’ll reap the benefits twice by using the energy pervading the cosmos to move yourself a little more clockwise. Go toward the future in the direction of mercy, not backwards to a place of judgment (who did what and to whom) in the past.

"This is a time to reassess how we use our own power."

Pluto is in stationary retrograde in Capricorn at the moment. Pluto’s intense and complex energy hangs heavy in the air. (Pluto is retrograde until September 30th.) This is the quintessential aspect of self-responsibility. As frustration and anger in religious, political, and economic arenas increase in every part of the world, so too will the cosmic pressure shift around us. Massive changes are inevitable. Spend time this week healing any spiritual, mental and emotional wounds. This is another reason to choose concrete actions that will support mercy instead of judgment.

Also, Saturn is in Sagittarius, which gives us a chance to re-evaluate what has become static and dogmatic in the past. It is likely that any unfinished, but forgotten, business will make an unexpected reappearance during this time, reminding us to bring old issues to a close. Saturn will be retrograde until August 25th. Now is a wonderful time to take responsibility for our own desires and what we wish to create.

All in all, this is a time to reassess how we use our own power. Do we use our energy for mercy or judgment? Do we take responsibility or shift the blame? Keeping these questions in mind this week will behoove us as we make choices and take actions that are sure to serve us and those around us in the long run!
