As we wrap up our focus on mental health I am going to give you another tool to combat and ultimately transform your thoughts from negative to positive. And that is resiliency.
Kabbalah teaches that our darkest moments hold an opportunity for great light. That’s not to say that resilience will be snap-your-fingers easy. It takes time. It takes effort. And often, the gifts hiding within or around our challenges do not reveal themselves until much later.
Resilience isn’t necessarily something we are all born with, but it is certainly something that we can learn. One tip for building resiliency: we have to change self-deprecation to self-love. When you find yourself in a regretful frame of mind, create a mantra such as this:
I did my best with the knowledge, awareness, and understanding I had at the time, fully accepting the awareness that I’m constantly changing, and what might suit me now would not have been a viable option.
Today we will implement your step-by-step plan for improving your mental well-being.
While on the journey to optimal mental well-being, remember that it’s just as essential to remove the negative influences that affect your mind as it is to add more positive ones.
Some of the most common daily triggers for our mental health include:
The thing is, we cannot change anything from our past. It’s done. But we CAN let our experiences, emotions, and regrets inform us to make better choices in the future.
Let’s start by looking over your goals for improving your mental well-being.
Do you feel that these goals are within your capability of achieving? Are they specific and manageable? Think about how you will put them into action, starting today:
Remember, life is messy sometimes. We all experience sadness, stress, and fear (I wrote a lot about that topic in my book Fear is Not an Option, and we will revisit fears in our 30-day Life Audit); it’s how we deal with these emotions that matters.
And ultimately, the choice is always ours! We can get stuck in the muck or move forward and embrace the mess!
One of the great gifts in studying Kabbalah is that we become more aware of the energies around us. Each day, week, and month has its own unique energy with differing powers that inform us. This month of Virgo is one of the most consequential months of the year, full of the energy of deep transformation. Over the next 30 days, we will assess, evaluate, and rethink 10 of the most important areas of your life. First, we will look at what is working and what isn’t working. I will help you identify your desire – the thing that you really want for that area of your life–not the thing you only think you want, or think you should want, or what others think you should want. From there, you will make your plan. You’ll make it actionable, doable, and motivating. I’m so excited and grateful that you are all joining me on this journey to rethink, reframe, recalibrate, and re-energize your life.
