Lesson Highlights

  • Recognizing anything bad or negative within ourselves, as part of our process for gradual evolution
  • World reformers throughout history, even the most well-intended have failed in their efforts
  • Negative qualities within humans cannot be removed, only transformed
  • As students of Kabbalah, our goal is to apply the sacred teachings into our individual lives
  • Removing or destroying a negative force gives us the illusion we have solved a problem or made some kind of progress
  • Blaming and shifting responsibility to others to remove negativity from the world only delays peace for the collective
  • Transforming our individual negativity also helps transform the entire world
  • The world always acts as a mirror reflecting our internal state of being
  • Our job, spiritually, is to take full responsibility for ourselves, instead of focusing our efforts on changing others

Lesson Description

In this lesson, we learn about Rav Ashlag’s teachings on the failings of past world reformers, clarifying where they went wrong in their efforts to bring about world peace. Join us to learn why it is inefficient and unproductive to remove or destroy what appears negative in the world, and how the Creator intends for us to deal with that which is negative.

About This Course

Many kabbalistic prayers end with the word 'peace,' or 'shalom' in Hebrew. The root of this word is 'shalem', meaning 'complete.' We experience true peace when things in our lives are complete and we have certainty. Based on the book 'On World Peace' by Rav Ashlag, this course will explore the kabbalistic meaning of peace and why so many are misguided in their quest for it. Learn how kabbalists cultivate peace in their lives, even in the midst of challenging situations. These modules help you gain a clearer perspective on why unconditional love is key in maintaining peace.
