Rav Yehuda Ashlag, founder of the Kabbalah Centre, explains that the story of Shemot is the personal Torah. From this we understand that all the stories contained in it are not just related to historical events or to specific individuals, but instead they are the guidance we need at an individual level to walk the path of the Light in this physical world.
Choosing to take on our responsibilities can be scary because it usually requires us to face scenarios we're uncomfortable with. With this week's energy of Shemot, we can draw in a mind over matter mindset to embrace challenges that will bring more Light into our lives in the long run.
