Understanding each of the seven Sefirot we are cleansing during the 49 days of Omer
Our purpose is to be like the Light, which is accomplished through removing bread-of-shame
During the Omer, our actions of correction unblock the level of Zeir Anpin within us and for the collective
Every day of the Omer nourishes a different aspect of Zeir Anpin to be fully rebuilt after the exile of Egypt
Every sefirah at the higher level is pure, and as its lower aspect becomes lesser in purity as it gets more physical and limited
In order to rebuild ourselves, we need to confront and transform our weaknesses through our positive attributes -this is necessary in order to reveal our true selves
We bring situations from the past so we can transform them, if we are not ready for them, then we experience chaos, but if we are ready for them, we experience bliss
Focusing our spiritual work during the Omer to correct any and all damage caused to every aspect of our being
Lesson Description
In this first lesson, we learn that the Omer is directly linked to the festivity of Pesach, and also an important process of deep purification and cleansing for ourselves and for the entire world.
About This Course
In the study of Kabbalah, the Omer refers to the 49 days between the cosmic openings of Pesach and Shavuot. When Moses took the Israelites out of Egypt in ancient times, they received freedom without any effort on their part. Therefore, the kabbalists teach, the Creator withdrew the Light of Pesach in order to give the people the opportunity to earn that Light. This period of work is what is known as the Counting of the Omer, and encompasses the powerful hillulah of the author of the Zohar, Rav Shimon bar Yochai, known as Lag B’Omer. Join us for an illuminating course as we delve into the different spiritual aspects of the Omer and Shavuot.
