Rav Ashlag explains that the Light created cause and effect to help us grow and realize our actions. Being in the path of transformation requires continuous effort, and understanding that our Soul is endless gives us the certainty to know that everything we experience in the physical world is temporary such as the intellect and all the material aspects of our reality.
