Hour of Spiritual Unity

What if people all over the world, from all religions and no religion, united for one hour?

How much Light would be revealed? How would the world change?

It has been my dream that one day, barriers will be removed between people, and that we will find respect for each other’s spiritual practices and beliefs. For holy books from different traditions may contain different words but the message remains the same: To love each other, to love ourselves, and to grow our love and awe for the Infinite Force that is all around us and gives us life. Indeed, unity can be the foundation of our differences.

This year, the New Moon of Aries begins on the evening of Monday, March 27th. The kabbalists teach that this is the lunar New Year, the seed level of the coming 365 days, the start of a new cycle. What better time to use the technology available in our generation to do what has never been done before— to join together, regardless of our individual paths, to infuse the seed with unity and respect, to create a year that is the Tree of Life from which all the world can be nurtured.

With this in mind, I extend this personal invitation to join me for An Hour of Spiritual Unity, wherein we will all come together to read from any holy scripture that speaks to our hearts — be it the Zohar, the Old Testament, the New Testament, the Quran, the Yogi Sutras, the Bhagavad-Gita, the Pali Canon, even poetry if you would like. Those who prefer not to read can do meditation, contemplation, yoga… anything that personally awakens your spirit. The hour can be of your choosing, any time during the evening of March 27th. It can be as you get home from work or perhaps just before you go to sleep.

If you plan to join us on March 27th, tell us now how you plan to spend your hour by using #HourOfSpiritualUnity on the social media platform of your choice. In this way, we tie our individual choices into one sentiment, and give one form to all our many spiritual expressions. As of today, I am also changing my profile picture on Facebook to reflect my commitment to spiritual unity. If you would like to do the same, we’ve created an easy way to add this to your profile picture by clicking here.

This is the beauty of social media, as it brings everyone together like never before in history, with no boundary of geography, language, or other such barriers. Let us create a wave of energy that will ripple throughout the digital landscape, and around the globe. Let us inspire the choice of spiritual unity.

For many people in the world, these are dark times. Yet, we know that when you turn on the Light, the darkness disappears. May the Light that emanates from our unified efforts during this hour, shine so bright that it illuminates even the darkest corners of the world.

This is my most heartfelt desire, and I pray that you will join me.

God speed.

Karen Berg
Spiritual Director of The Kabbalah Centre

Message from Ilchi Lee

"What we see now more than ever before is this idea of Earth consciousness that motivates us to do something positive for the sake of global good. With information spreading over seas and across continents at the fastest rate we’ve ever seen yet, we find ourselves more intimately influencing the thoughts and actions of those in other countries and not just ours. Ultimately what will save this world is not one person, one religion, one nation, or one race of people. It’s all of us living as united Citizens of the Earth as we individually brighten our own consciousness and play our roles with this spirit of global consciousness in mind. Thank you Karen Berg from the Kabbalah Centre for spearheading this important effort for mindful love for global unity. I offer this Prayer of Peace for the Earth and the #HourOfSpiritualUnity event."

In the midst of such chaos in my life, I have been able to find peace through studying Kabbalah. Without any doubts whatsoever, I would highly recommend anyone to call. I am so thankful for The Kabbalah Centre, because it has made all the difference in my spiritual growth and development.

- Susan Perry Simpson

Kabbalah is the best gift I have had this year. But it did not come easy. It is a result of a lot of hard, focused, and disciplined work my teacher guided me through. Often I had to go out of my comfort zone to apply the tools. But the satisfaction and confidence I now feel is indescribable.

- Sam Parnaso

Now I look back and question what exactly I did and how I managed without these teachings in my life.
