“Everything has an internal aspect and an external aspect.  Every person for instance has a soul and a body.  In the universe there are the secrets, and there are the mundane, unimportant aspects.  In the world, there are those who are trying to build and those who are trying to destroy.  When a person strengthens his appreciation for his soul and gives most of his time and effort to growing the internal aspect within himself and others, he strengthens the cause of those concerned with making our world more perfect, and he diminishes the power of those desiring to destroy and kill.  Do not be surprised that an individual through his own actions causes the elevation or lowering of the entire world, for this is the spiritual law, the individual and the collective are intertwined.  The individual’s actions certainly affect the entire world.  Through this you can understand why the Zohar says that...
