The portion of Vayeshev speaks of a huge family crisis: the sons of Jacob decide to sell their younger brother, Joseph, into slavery. A great depression falls upon the family. Jacob loses his divine inspiration. It is considered the most chaos-filled portion of the entire Torah. However, huge miracles are born later from this exact story. There may be no other story which is a better example of a “perfect plan.”
The week begins with the moon in Cancer, close to the Black Moon in Cancer. We know that Cancer is an astrological sign connected to family, and the Black Moon suggests big family issues to be solved. This is a very important week because it is an opportunity to accept the family environment we were born into. We need to understand that there is a perfect plan in motion for us since the day we were born. Whether our family of origin fulfilled our expectations or not, our souls need that growth that came out of these relationships.
However, this extends to all aspects of our lives. Perhaps, the current scenario you are in is chaotic financially or professionally. Once we reframe our expectations and begin to heal the issues that come up during the Black Moon, we can gain much wisdom and happiness.
