This week’s portion, Vayechi, is about how to live. The whole chapter settles around the idea of how to live when there is chaos around us and how to turn chaos into life. Vayechi becomes one unified whole.
As we move through a Full Moonon December 18th in the sign of Gemini, there will be a huge shift in energy pushing us toward action and making big life decisions. It’s the first lunation in Gemini we’ve experienced for a while that isn’t an eclipse. This Full Moon can bring awareness to our lives and a rather urgent need to understand how to overcome the chaos around and within us!
Another thing to note about this portion is Jacob places his hands on his children for a blessing. A blessing represents a sequence of letters, and even if they don’t make sense, they provide us with the ability to remove chaos. The 12 tribes were established in correspondence to the 12 signs of the zodiac. Each of his 12 sons would channel a celestial body, and Jacob needed to decide who would be the chariot of each particular sign.
On December 19th, Venus turns retrograde at 26+ degrees Capricorn and will remain retrograde until January 29th, 2022. This retrograde gives us the chance to look over our relationships and review our connection with loved ones. Just as Jacob did with his 12 sons in blessing them, it’s a time to review our attitudes and attachments. You can release much of what you no longer need in your personal life.
Another thing that occurs on the 19th of December is that Chiron turns direct after being in retrograde motion since July 15th. Emotional truths about matters we’ve been avoiding or things we’ve been confused by begin to emerge now and in the coming weeks. While not always comfortable, they can serve to motivate us in taking appropriate action so we can keep the flow of blessings in our lives and prevent negative energy from being revealed.
