The portion of Vayigash is connected to solving family problems. In this portion of the Torah, Jacob's entire family forgives themselves after years of huge family crises. Specifically, in verse 45:5 of Genesis, Joseph says, "Do not feel anger towards yourselves, as all injustice you did to me was part of a perfect plan."
The week begins with many planets in Capricorn: the sun, Venus, the moon, Mercury, and Pluto. The Sefer Yetzira attributes the letter "ayin" to Capricorn, and it also says that it created the energy of anger.
We now have Jupiter in Aries, which is also martial in its nature, ruling fights and conflicts. This happens together with the South Node in Scorpio, which seeks revenge and holds grudges.
Does this scenario seem like Vayigash? It sounds the opposite! This is the magic of paradox: as we gather together with our families during this holiday season, we will have the opportunity to cultivate grudges, let our anger loose, or engage in fights.
If we are able to hold on to what Joseph says in Vayigash (Genesis 45:5), every time we feel reactive, we can heal. Remember, every healing needs a bit of the venom.
