February of 2021 comes to clean up the mess left after a turbulent January!
The New Moon in Pisces fell on February 12th, conjunct Mercury and square Mars. Ruled by Neptune, Pisces is perhaps the most enigmatic sign of the zodiac. With a Pisces, you never really know what’s going on. They are elusive and mysterious, which is why it is said that Pisces and the 12th house rule the invisible world.
This week's portion of Tetzaveh always falls during the month of Pisces, with so many hidden secrets to be revealed. It is said that in this portion (which falls before the energy of Purim,) Moses comes to each of us and makes a spiritual connection while planting a spark of his soul within us. What an amazing and powerful concept! In this instance, when we discuss Moses, we are not just talking about the physical man; we are talking about the spiritual level he is connected to, the level of certainty. That’s one of the hidden gifts of this week's portion: the opportunity to connect to absolute certainty, certainty above logic.
As you know, your unconscious thoughts and feelings determine your actions, and the more you get access to your unconscious mind (the certainty above logic), the more you get in touch with the power of the universe. As a constellation, Pisces is depicted by two fish swimming in opposite directions yet linked by a cord that keeps them together. This represents the power of our consciousness: certainty versus doubt.
The second concept hidden in this portion is our need to awaken responsibility for our actions and thoughts. This week, it is important to ask ourselves what we can do to accept more responsibility, not just in our lives but for the world. Without spiritual growth, we cannot achieve the purpose for which we came to this world. Mars square the New Moon will urge us to release unhealthy behaviors that are not productive or useful. It is a time to take a close look at your actions, like the way you assert yourself in the world.
We also have Mercury conjunct the moon. Just like the moon has cycles, Mercury has cycles, too. If new moons (moon conjunct the sun) are great for starting something new that you can complete in a month, Mercury cycles are great for starting projects you can complete in a four-month period. With Pisces, your emotions will run deep—very deep. Pisces will ask you to let go of anything that is superficial, manipulative, or self-absorbed, and embrace timeless values such as truth, honesty, and integrity. With certainty and responsibility, the unique gifts of this week’s portion, we can elevate our consciousness to awaken true desire within us.
