In this week's portion, Beshalach, we read about the great miracle of the Red Sea opening. It is a good week to reestablish a connection with the 72 Names of God table that was born this week.
The week begins with the moon in Aries, which reminds us of one of the main figures in the story of the miracle (the opening of the sea): a man called Nachson ben Aminadav, who was the leader of the tribe of Aries. As the people stood before the sea, Moses had a revelation from the Creator—they were to simply jump into the sea with the consciousness of trust and certainty. It seemed beyond logic, and still, Nachson ben Aminadav, being imbued with the energy of Aries, was the first to walk into the sea head-on. As he entered, the miracle happened!
Aries is about taking a step. It rules initiative, thinking less, and acting more. In life, there are moments to calculate and consider and moments when we need to stand up and walk forward with trust in the Creator, certainty that He will help us once we step into the unknown.
Maybe we need to call that person and have that difficult conversation with trust in the Creator’s ability to help us with that unpredictable call. Or maybe we need to accept an invitation we have been too afraid to accept. Or take a good, proactive risk. Or perhaps, even more importantly, we can share beyond what we think we are able to. It takes a lot of courage to extend our generosity, as well.
This week, as we receive the energy of miracles, the moon in Aries can help us take those bold steps. It is a week when we train our divine courage, audacity, and initiative to leap forward head on, like Nachson ben Aminadav, the leader of the tribe of Aries.
