Rav Berg explained that at this time, we are in the midst ofthe three most negative weeks of the whole year. The actualization of all this negativity occurs on the ninth of Leo, or Tisha b’Av. The portion of Devarim always precedes Tisha b’Av or occurs on the day itself. Why? Everyone thinks that the Ninth of Leo is a day that is only negative—a day when our opponent has total control. But it is not all negative.
This week, as we go through one of the most “energetic” times of the year, we are also going through an epic conjunction: Uranus and the North Node conjunct in Taurus. The North Node and Uranus only meet every 15 years, so this is BIG! Whenever we have a Uranus transit, we should be prepared to expect the unexpected. This is the time of year to let go of negative patterns and behaviors that may have been sabotaging us for years. This is in tune with Tisha b’Av when we have a chance to plant seeds of change. Uranus and the North Node are connected with the future, progress, possibilities, and purpose. Uranus (the most unpredictable, change-oriented astrological archetype) with the North Node (our soul’s purpose) is an invitation to embrace change. Whatever your reality is, Uranus will come along and change it.
Uranus and North Node have quite a bit in common. They are both future, progress-oriented energies. Their goal is to set us free from the past and show us that there are other ways—more free and authentic ways to live our lives. Uranus shakes us to the core, removing all attachments that no longer serve us, which creates space for the future. The North Node is our compass, our life’s purpose. It’s time to set up new goals. This is the time to trust the universe and go with the flow. The portion of Devarim is the keter, or “the crown,” of Malchut. It is meant to minimize the desire to receive for oneself so that we will be able to prevail and usher in the Messiah on Tisha b’Av. Therefore, the first change that must occur is a change in our behavior and in our consciousness. If we can understand how powerful the portion of Devarim is, we can tap into the awesome energy that only takes place in the month of Leo. As Rav Berg taught, less is more.
