As we continue to navigate through the epic energies of this month, we arrive at one of the most potent energies: Simchat Torah. On this holiday, we rise above the illusion of time. The holiday has everything to do with Light. As Rav Berg explains, it is an unmatched opportunity to rid our lives of chaos and the difficulties we encounter in life. On Simchat Torah, we receive enough Light to surround us for the entire year. But there is little room for doubt. All we need is to have certainty in its existence.
Everyone can receive Light, provided that they are also willing to share. To let the Light in, we must remove illusions, cancel all of our limiting beliefs, and abolish all prejudices and doubts, especially on Simchat Torah.
This month, we master the sign of Libra—a sublime sign that is an iron hand in a velvet glove. Libra is a cardinal air sign, which means that internally, the Librans know what they want and usually have the mental mastery to get it. Thus, the opportunity for all of us is to achieve the goal (whatever it is) in order to get the surrounding Light for the whole year to come.
Libra's ruling planet is Venus, which makes those born under this sign charming and cheerful. This month, Venus says goodbye to her long holiday in Leo, where she has resided since June. Venus will spend the rest of the month in Virgo, the sign of “Let’s get to work and be healthy!” Having spent so much time in party mode (Leo), Venus will now reassess how relationships function in everyday life.
Pluto, the planet of transformation, moves direct on the 10th, the same day that Venus is opposite Saturn. The intensity of this combination will have us determined to find a way to go above our nature and connect to that “surrounding Light” of Simchat Torah for the whole year.
We are now ready to claim our new selves. It’s the energy of, “This is who I am, and this is what I want.” Emotionally, we have more clarity since Venus is now visible again and ready to move direct. But while we may know what we want (Venus), we may be nowhere near certain about how to get it (Mercury retrograde). That’s the power of Simchat Torah and the tremendous energy revealed this week.
We have the chance to make important changes in our lives. Libra teaches us to learn to make peace with those around us and to establish more harmony in our environments. Peace and harmony are the goals. But there’s a fine balancing act; this requires some commitment and effort. Now, more than ever, we will have the clarity to figure things out and make the right choices.
