As we approach the energy of Yom Kippur, the day of atonement, we need to understand the magnitude of this energy in order to draw the tremendous Light of this time.
The gift that it’s given to us on Yom Kippur is like a task given to a small child by their parents. A loving parent gives the child time to complete the task. But if after some time the child feels they cannot finish the task alone, then the parents step in to help complete the task.
That’s the assistance we receive from the stars this week. The planet Saturn steps in, representing the “father figure.” Saturn is the farthest visible planet we can see with the “naked eye.” It is in retrograde motion in Aquarius from May 2021 until October 2021. This retrograde motion helps us understand something fundamental about ourselves. Like a father explaining things to his child, we will come to know what needs to be done in order to finish the task.
We’ve experienced a lot of change since May. Now, it is time for our “first revision.” Think about what has changed in your life in the last several months. Do you see any patterns? Can you identify any lessons? Can you see where you need to work harder? The karmic lesson with Saturn in retrograde gives us the opportunity to reflect on the work that we have done in the last few months. We can see more clearly where we are at and where we would like to be.
If you have been stuck or struggling with pain for a while, now you have the chance to start again—to leave behind any wound that hasn’t healed, no matter how hard you tried in the past. This week, with the tremendous energy of Yom Kippur, we have the opportunity to open new doors and heal. Now that the hard work has been done, we are ready for renewal. The truth will not only set us free but will also bring us closure.
