Happiness is a fundamental aspect of our spiritual work. It is one of the lessons that can be most easily implemented, and yet we make it so complicated.
This week, we celebrate the spiritual holiday of Sukkot, when we can draw in the Light of mercy for the whole year. This is the week to express kindness and sharing in everything we do and say. We do not receive the lessons and the Light of this week just so we can become “good people.” They are given to us in order to create very real, practical aspects of protection and mercy that can truly enrich our lives and the lives of all humanity.
In the stars, the planet Jupiter in Aquarius plays the role of abundance and mercy. Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system and has the magical quality of expanding everything it touches. Without Jupiter, there would be nogrowth and no expansion, astrologically speaking. Jupiter doesn’t like ambiguity and helps us stay focused on our goals, so we don’t get side-tracked.
Jupiter promotes a sense of inner coherence, and when things feel right, happiness emerges naturally. Jupiter in Aquarius invites us to take a big leap of faith and find the “happy place” where we truly belong.
Jupiter in Aquarius asks us to go after our dreams, to feel joy for ourselves and others. There may be thousands of reasons why we could fail, but unless we believeand give it a try, nothing will ever happen.
By bringing these qualities into our lives, both in our dealings with ourselves and with the world, we will create a connection to the tremendous Light of Sukkot revealed this week.
This is our opportunity to become a co-creator with the Universe. But we also have an obligation to get involved and create a better future for ourselves. Take this opportunity seriously; this may be one of the most important moments of our lives.
