You’ve likely heard accounts of mothers who have lifted cars to rescue children pinned underneath, experiencing momentary strength far beyond what they would normally think is possible. Or people who have suffered brain injuries and made recoveries that defy science. While we can label these stories as modern miracles, the truth is that our potential is far greater than we can conceive. It’s not just how we use our bodies but also our minds and hearts.
Here are 6 tips to discover your limitless potential:
How many times have you thought things like, “I’m not good enough. There’s no way I could ever do that. It’s a nice dream, but it’s not attainable for me”? We often tell ourselves false tales that prevent us from even attempting to achieve great things. The hardest obstacle can be discovering who we want to become and giving ourselves permission to pursue that. Not only are we capable of greatness, it’s a necessary part of our soul’s work in this world.
We each have a spark of the Creator within us, a limitless source of power. Our ability to create is endless, but too often, we get stuck in the rut of repetition and limitation. We think change and growth are out of our reach. In order to start living our potential, we must begin by opening ourselves to the understanding that we are limitless, which means we are incredibly powerful.
Remind yourself throughout the day that you are connected to the Creator and, therefore, have endless potential.
Sometimes, when we hear the concept of limitless potential, we think it means accomplishing something that has never been done before or doing something better than anyone ever has – finding a cure for a deadly disease, writing a Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, or ending world hunger. In truth, living our potential doesn’t have to be big.
If we view ourselves as a channel of limitless Light, it’s not about how many people we impact but about living our soul’s purpose. Even if it’s just one person who we affect, then it is all worthwhile. You never know what that one person might do as a result of your influence.
People often wonder why they aren’t manifesting their potential. If you want to see where you are revealing your potential, consider the things you are doing that push you into places that don’t come easily for you. That’s where real growth and transformation occur.
Far too often, we play it safe and make ourselves smaller out of fear or comfort. In order to reveal your infinite Light and power, move towards the things that are outside of your comfort zone every single day.
Trauma can limit our potential. Trauma is not just what has happened to us but how we feel about what has happened. It’s not limited to big things like war or chronic illness or violence - trauma is any consistent pattern of behavior or experience that creates the belief we need to betray our true selves in order to survive.
Think about the things that have happened in your life that are dictating how you show up for yourself and others in ways you don’t realize. Take note of where you are triggered throughout the day, and explore why you allow yourself to be distracted from your true purpose. Go back to the first time you felt that way and look at it as your adult self and see it for what it is.
Being aware of these triggers and past traumas can help you heal and navigate going forward without being held back by them.
When we find success, it’s easy to believe that we worked hard and made it happen for ourselves. This thinking stems from the ego and actually limits how much more we are capable of. What really gives us power is the Creator. We are each connected to that limitless force of creation, yet it is important to know that the force does not come from us; we are the channels for it.
These ideas can seem paradoxical. There is nothing you cannot accomplish today because you are limitless, but the source of your power and success is the Creator. Living with that consciousness is what allows you to reach your fullest potential.
Living our potential is not about what anyone else thinks about us but about doing what we know our souls need to do. You can waste a lifetime doing things people expect you to do. When we focus on what others like or don’t like about us, we limit ourselves to try and please them.
A tree grows not because of the support of all the other trees but because it is its nature. That is how we want to view our lives. Living our potential means doing it for us and the Light of the Creator.
Living our potential is key to creating a fulfilling life and expressing the full power and beauty of our souls. More than that, it’s a necessary part of our job in this life. Push yourself out of your comfort zone, remove boundaries and limitations that hold you back, and know that all things are possible with the help of the Light of the Creator.
