Today is all about preparation. Rav Berg once taught that only a fool begins building a house by laying the first brick; a wise person invests time into making a blueprint first. So too do we want to invest time into creating a game plan for our new approach to health. This is where you do your research, create a plan, and begin the steps that will help you accomplish your health goals. And, just as you did when setting your goals, ensure that your steps are specific AND manageable.
Welcome to day 2 of the 30 Days of Virgo Life Audit! Yesterday, you assessed your health, healthy habits, and maybe not-so-healthy habits. You took a closer look at how you feel about your choices.
Today, consider some of the ways you can become healthier.
What do you want to begin, or do more of?
What do you want to do less of?
What do you want to stop altogether?
Make sure your changes are actionable and doable–and that you really want to make them. The kabbalists teach that we are defined by our desires, so be honest with yourself about what you truly want.
(For example, telling yourself you have to exercise every single day when you’ve grown accustomed to being sedentary is a lot of pressure. Instead, you could begin by committing to taking a daily walk after dinner.)
Remember, every day, life is a series of decisions. And small change after small change adds up to great change. It’s all about consistency.
As you create your plan, keep a few things in mind:
1. Be specific. Ambiguous intentions bring ambiguous results. ‘I’m going to exercise more’ or ‘I’m going to cut back on my drinking’ won’t cut it. Specificity is your friend. ‘I will go to the gym 3 days a week at 9AM on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.’ Or ‘I will consume no more than 3 glasses of wine a week and will not drink during the weekdays.’
2. Make your plan manageable. Just as you wouldn’t attempt to solve a calculus problem without having mastered basic arithmetic, neither should you set yourself up for failure with a wildly challenging or time consuming plan. Dream big, by all means! Just set attainable goals within a timeframe.
Once you’ve set your goals to achieve optimal health, put them somewhere where you will see them every day.

One of the great gifts in studying Kabbalah is that we become more aware of the energies around us. Each day, week, and month has its own unique energy with differing powers that inform us. This month of Virgo is one of the most consequential months of the year, full of the energy of deep transformation. Over the next 30 days, we will assess, evaluate, and rethink 10 of the most important areas of your life. First, we will look at what is working and what isn’t working. I will help you identify your desire – the thing that you really want for that area of your life–not the thing you only think you want, or think you should want, or what others think you should want. From there, you will make your plan. You’ll make it actionable, doable, and motivating. I’m so excited and grateful that you are all joining me on this journey to rethink, reframe, recalibrate, and re-energize your life.
