Lesson Highlights

  • Understanding jealousy, adultery, and coveting: finding fulfillment outside of his home, skills and individual gifts
  • The antidote to jealousy is connecting with our own gifts: Appreciating and using what we have to our full potential
  • Accessing our real power
  • Reading from Rav Ashlag’s Introduction to the Zohar verse 20 (see handout below)
  • Seeing ourselves as complete and corrected
  • Three areas where we feel imperfect: our inborn attributes, present difficulties, and our past mistakes
  • Guilt does not change our nature
  • Believing that our essence is good and pure.
  • Rav Chaim Vital's Gates of Holiness: jealousy comes from seeing illusionary pleasures as a false source of fulfillment
  • Seeking and craving things that do not really belong to us with the hope that they will bring us fulfillment
  • Perceiving ourselves as limited and lacking leads to jealousy
  • Recognizing past mistakes are a part of a perfect plan and are exactly what needed to happen
  • Revealing Light with happiness in order to see our negativity more clearly
  • Recognizing our perfection and remaining humble
  • Seeing that every action we do has a huge impact on the world
  • Strengthening the power of the soul through appreciating our own power

Lesson Description

Eitan challenges us to move beyond jealousy and to see the real potential within us.  Jealousy comes from a place of identifying with our sense of lack and temporary faults.  Knowing this, we can unleash our unbelievable power by connecting with the pure and complete soul within us rather than our faults.  Utilizing texts from Rav Ashlag's Introduction to the Zohar and Rav Chaim Vital's Gates of Holiness, this powerful lesson helps us recognize our soul's perfection and achieve a deeper connection to our unlimited potential.
