Moving On Up

Time to wake up and move forward. The month of Cancer brings us many cosmic opportunities to wake up, see reality as it is, and eliminate any level of illusion from our lives.

Cancer is a water sign that is ruled by the moon. The moon is a dependable object in the universe, revolving around Earth and reflecting the light of the sun (as it does not create light of its own), and the Cancers feel dependent on their environment and life circumstances at times. One of the main spiritual goals of anyone that was born under the influence of the sign of Cancer and all of us during the month of Cancer is to gain emotional independence and overcome the feeling that we are dependent on external influences and forces to awaken Light and Blessings in our lives.

In the upcoming month, there are several cosmic events that are here to support us with this powerful spiritual mission.

On June 23^rd (the first day of the month according to the kabbalistic calendar), the planet Neptune will turn retrograde for the next five months. When a planet turns retrograde, it urges us to revisit, reflect, and reassess all that this planet represents in our lives. Neptune symbolizes the world of illusion. Since Neptune is in the sign of Pisces (which is the home sign of Neptune and also a water sign), Neptune in retrograde is double-powered, awakening us to look deeply into our lives so we can recognize any type of illusion or self-deception that we might have chosen to connect with in the last year. The fact that this event takes place in the month of Cancer is a clear message to start the process of disconnecting from any victim consciousness or any excuses that we might use to prevent us from connecting to the Light, or awakening Light and blessings in our lives.

We all have within us a spark of Light, directly from the creator, that allows us to bring Light into our lives in any given moment. As Rav Berg shares with us in his book Kabbalistic Astrology, “Kabbalah teaches that we have many possible futures and that through kabbalistic wisdom we can become captain of our own ship and masters of our own destiny.” Take the time this month to notice where you are limiting yourself by saying: “I can’t.” And allow yourself to see a reality where you can make anything that you desire happen in your life.

On July 11^th Neptune will have a beautiful aspect to the sun, and that can give all of us a confidence boost and ability to connect to a reality in which we can overcome all of our dependencies and self-limiting belief systems.

On June 25^th we have another cosmic event that helps us with this month’s spiritual mission. Cancers have a tendency to focus on the past and be influenced and limited by past life experiences. On June 25^th the planet Venus moves out of retrograde. Venus moving forward again means that this is the time to focus on the present and future, especially when it comes to our love lives and our financial affairs. We’ve been through a time where the cosmos encouraged us to learn our lessons from the past, revisit our relationships, and ask questions before moving forward. Now it’s time to act, shift into forward motion and remove any element of fear or doubt from our paths.

Another tremendous opportunity that we are given this month is the conjunction between Jupiter and Pluto that is taking place on June 30^th. This opportunity returns every 13 years (this year it’s taking place three times), and the conjunction can lead to great achievement on a personal or global level. In the month of Cancer, it can allow us to have a deeper connection to our spiritual gifts and believe in ourselves and our abilities to achieve great things in our lives.

Toward the end of the month, on July 12^th, the planet Mercury moves out of retrograde, which can also allow us to communicate better, get out of our shells, and move forward to where we need to get in our lives. (This can also signify relief in travel delays and recent hold-offs that the entire world been experiencing lately.)

This is a month when we all gain the opportunity to grow our internal strength and recognize the Light that exists within—to awaken this Light, move forward, and achieve any dreams, hopes, and wishes that we envision.
