Lesson Highlights

  • The power of the Opponent
  • Not falling due to our Desire to Receive for the Self Alone

Lesson Description

In the portion of Shlach Lecha the heads of the tribes are sent into the land of Israel on the 9th of Av to make sure that it is safe for the Israelites to enter. When they return, only two of the heads of the tribes tell the truth that the land is safe. The other ten spies feared losing their position and power if they told the truth. The heads of the tribes were on a high spiritual level and still fell. In this lesson, Rav Berg reminds us about the power of the Opponent, the Desire to Receive for the Self Alone and provides us with consciousness that can help us avoid falling due to our selfish desires.
