While the literal story of Korach may sound unjust, Rav Berg cites the Zohar and decodes Korach’s underlying motivation in critiquing Moses’s apparent nepotism, having granted his brother Aaron the priesthood: a desire to undo the Three Column System of the Desire to Share (Right Column), the Desire to Receive (Left Column), and the Desire to Receive for the Sake of Sharing (Central Column). Korach’s proposal to have energy flow solely through the Left Column, as represented by the Levites, was incongruous with the purpose of Creation.
